So, waddya feed yer 91 yr old father for dinner? Tonite; 1/2 an onion, sliced into thin half rings, heated until translucent in three Tbls coconut oil. Then, add one medium head of broccoli, sliced long and thin. Simmer that. Next, add 4 cloves of garlic and an inch and a half of fresh organic ginger root, peeled and diced up real fine along with the garlic. Simmer that. After a short while, add the juice of half of one fat lemon, simmer and add 1/2 cup of chicken broth. Reduce. In the mean time, there seems to have been two organic free-range chicken breasts marinating in soy sauce, olive oil and fresh squeezed lemon juice. Now, since this is Puna, and there were no small canisters of propane to be found at the four places I looked, (14 mile round trip) I baked the chicken breasts at 375 degrees for 10 mins., then, sliced them in half and upped the temp to 425 for the next 10, basting periodically with the remaining sauce. Turned out pretty good, truth be told.
