So we already know that we are incapable of observing the present - TopicsExpress

So we already know that we are incapable of observing the present due to the finite speed of light photons, sound waves, and of course cognitive delay. We need to consider the perspective of the photon itself. When something moves at a faster rate, its perception of time slows down. Humans have experienced this with relation to each other. Astronauts on the International Space Station fall at about 17,500 MPH around the Earth and therefore move through space faster than us on the surface. While it is not necessarily significant, it is measurable, but the time they perceive is different than the time we perceive. So lets just skip the formalities and jump to it. Consider the perspective of the photons leaving the device you are reading this from. We already know, from your perspective, a degree of time has passed from the time this light left the device, and reached your eyes. You are looking at the past. Now from the perspective of the photon you are perceiving, by the time you are able to see this, you are dead. You died millions of years ago. You died, the Earth is dead, our solar system is all dead. From the perspective of the photon which makes it able for you to read this, this happened long, long ago. I am sure none of you actually care about this. But for some reason, I love it, and it is significant to me. physics.about/od/timetravel/f/twinparadox.htm
