So we appear to have our very own Captain Jack Sparrow!! Fancy a pint ? Live near Shotley ? Why not pop along to the Bristol Arms in Shotley Gate. After all it used to be run by John Jack Sparrow and for a while, according to a book published in 1969 called Inns of the Suffolk Coast, was apparently known as Jack Sparrows. John Sparrow (Great Grandson to Samuel Knights) was, according to the 1900 Kellys Directory, working as both Publican and Ferry Boat owner. Census entries from 1901 and 1911 show him as innkeeper and as late as 1922 the Kellys directory still shows him as Publican, Boat Owner and Coal Merchant. We know very little more on this family line so if you have any information please let us know, so far two daughters have been found but in 1911 seven children had been born, only three of whom still survived.... who are we missing ? ..................and ladies I am very disappointed but No I dont think we can get Johnny Depp to the reunion !!! bristolarms/
