So, we cant control which thoughts pop into our minds, but we can choose which ones we give importance to. This morning some anxious thoughts presented themselves and made a compelling case for me to give into them. Now, just like yesterday, Im FINE today. Im healthy today. The sun is shining today, so why am I going to let some what ifs take over? Yesterday, I went into battle against similar thoughts with some happy music and looking at the facts, which allowed me to realize that in that moment there was nothing I could do about what I was worried about and that I was completely fine for the day. Guess what? I had a calm, happy day. Today I gave into these thoughts momentarily because they were happening and they felt real. When I realized I was headed down a thought path I was not enjoying in the least, I Googled Bible verses on fear. Both courses of action were effective in helping me get on top of these thoughts before they took me down. I wish Id known how much power we have over our thinking my whole life. How do you deal with thoughts that are threatening your happiness for the day?
