So we didnt get many answers at stefs cardio appointment yesterday. The cardiologist didnt find anything glaringly obvious on the echo that would explain her big weight loss, burning calories like crazy, sweating, and lethargy. Though he felt it was cardiac related. Stef is a complicated girl when it comes to her heart and health. So because of that he wants to present her case today at their big cardio meeting for input and brainstorming before giving a surgery timeline. Also stef is a candidate for needing a pulmonary valve replacement which is a big deal. A cadaver valve will not grow so this would commit her to future surgeries as she grows but because of her pulmonary hypertension this may be the best decision for her. They are taking a close look at her heart measurements to see what size valve they would be able to place, the hope would be that she could handle a valve big enough that she wouldnt need it replaced again until she was ten years old or so. Her cardiologist would also like her to see another surgeon in his practice that he would be working with in this so he can actually physically exam her as well instead of just reading her chart. Good news is the Viagra (lol) is working great and her pressures are down. She can even go without oxygen here and there for a few hours at a time which is a huge praise! In going through this heart journey with stef we realized our bio kids are at a little higher risk for congenital heart disease due to family history and so the boys will get checked at stefs next appointment (though they seem to fine and all is likely just fine) and we will be doing prenatal screening on our belly baby this Friday to get a look as his/her heart just to be cautious. So we will also be finding out babies gender. We were blown away yesterday by a huge anonymous blessing that came in mail, seriously just blown away by kindness and gods provision. So a huge thank you to whomever sent us the monetary gift and the encouragement, it was so well timed after spending hours in the hospital yesterday and all the worry over stefs health. It was just the encouragement we needed and reminder to focus on God through this. May you be blessed sevenfold for the love you sent us!
