So we dont waste each others time: Source - where you read - TopicsExpress

So we dont waste each others time: Source - where you read something. This means that a declarative statement in your status is not a source. Primary Source - this might be a little harder. John Adams wrote a letter to Abigail - that letter is a primary source. Their son John Quincy Adams quoted it in his personal diary. The diary is a primary source for John Quincy, but a *secondary source* for his fathers letter to his mother. An historian writes a synopsis of Johns letter to Abigail, citing a mention in John Quincys diary. This is a tertiary source for Johns letter, and a secondary source for John Quincys diary. A good historian would have found the letter, itself, and used that *primary* source. An unsourced statement is an assertion.
