So we have a big box office showdown this week: On the one hand you have the latest ya adaptation Divergent. The past couple of attempts(Beautiful Creatures, The Host, mortal instruments, & Vampire Academy) have not had the numbers from their respective fan bases show up unlike the behemoths known as The Hunger Games and Twilight. So well have to see if this fan base is stronger. Not too much competition/counter programming(aside from 1 Im about to discuss). On the other hand you have the much beloved Muppets w/ their latest film Muppets most Wanted. I am a huge Muppet/Jim Henson fan but I wasnt too impressed w/ the last one, though this one has me quite interested. Muppet movies regardless do very well. And this has a slight edge over Divergent being the only competition is Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Personally I feel that if the Muppets dont pull this off, they will next week(with only big new release being Noah). Im just unsure if this fan base will come out in droves.
