So we went to Pakenham Horse Sales today (what were we thinking?) to have a look. There were quite a few really nice horses there and they were going for good prices. Pen 22 was an 18 year old registered paint mare who had been a broody. She seemed quiet and disinterested in what was going around her. We thought she would go for a bit of money as she was registered but boy were we wrong! No one was interested in her and she only had meat bids on her. So, for the princely sum of $175, Catherine purchased her. She was a bit stressed on the float (thanks Ashleigh for transporting) so we gave her a bath when she got here and she was totally cool that! She saw the cats and goats and was ok with them too. Piggy may be a different story but we will cross that bridge when we come to it! We are still amazed that a horse as gorgeous as this sold for less than what some people spend on a pair of boots! Welcome, you darling creature and we look forward to getting to know you and coming up with a name for you too! (Hint hint!!)
