So, we were able to pray 5 times on a daily basis and on time. Sometimes, we couldnt even wait to pray - we looked forward so much to joining the congregation to offer the next prayer. We spoke nicely to each other and undertook a lot of good deeds. We helped the poor. We stood in prayers for long hours, sometimes very late at night. We attended lectures and listened to the scholars, in order to increase our knowledge on the true teachings and practice of Islam. We made a lot of dua, sometimes with tears. We dressed decently. We read the Quran. We encouraged each other to doing good deeds and shunning evil. That is the spirit of Ramadan. Everything about Ramadan helps us to see Islam as something that we can do everyday without difficulties. Those who would benefit more from Ramadan are those who would continue doing all the good things that Ramadan brought us, even after the month has left us. Do you want to be part of those who benefit? Now, why should the sunnah (optional but recommended) fasts be a big deal? Why should staying up during some part of the night for our own good be a problem? Why should dressing decently, doing good deeds, shunning evil etc, be a difficult thing to do? Islam is an everyday responsibility. Ramadan helps us to accept the reality of it being something we can do everyday. May the good spirit that Ramadan brought continue to reign in our hearts long after the month has left us. May we, in shaa Allah be of those who would be part of the next Ramadan. May we meet the next Ramadan as better Muslims than we are now. May we be rewarded and counted amongst those who fasted this month in sincerity (fear of Allah). May we continue to make the 5 daily prayers part of our lives. #PostRamadanFeelings #Alhamdulilah #Ramadan2014
