So we were having a discussion about slavery (well, actually, we were having a discussion about pets: Melissa said something to Neil Patrick Harris, who was being an asshole {the dog Neil, not the actor Neil, obviously} about how she owns him. I said that was offensive, that he was a living being, and that one sentient being owning another was slavery, immmoral, and generally shitty. {Full disclosure: I dont actually believe owning a pet is the same as slavery, I was just playing devils advocate to see what shed say}). . I said to Hunter So, what do you think? Hunter thought about it for a while (I wasnt even sure hed heard me; he had his headphones on). Eventually he said Well, I like my slavery like I like my coffee... His mother and I both froze, horrified to hear how this was going to end... I hate coffee, he finished. Phew! Not a racist, and funny to boot. Good kid.
