So, were about to start the new semester of GDS, for the 6th time. The awesome change this year, is location. Some of you might have heard, the union has completely revamped the hideout into a big comfy seated area for gaming/games events, called the common room. The plan is to make use of this through the next year - meaning we can have a really relaxed atmosphere from start to finish (with food and drinks throughout). This will be starting with our regular welcome back night on the first Thursday of term (Thursday 11th). As well as this, were thinking of having a very relaxed freshers jam down in the common room. Instead of doing big overnight shifts, wed just be keeping it fun, and do a noon->5pm kind of thing over Freshers week - giving plenty of time to socialise in the night and actually enjoy making the games. Would love to hear any feedback on that, and whether anybody would be interested at all. So thats the plan, and as always - we can change anything to match what people want/think might be interesting :D
