So weve all experienced the mass market push to eat healthier, to exercise more and to pay more attention to our general health. Of course, the drawback to this is that the dedicated participants are starting to see side effects like: Loss of Overall Body-Fat, Reduction of Weight, Muscle Toning, Generally more fit physique, and the consequential need for diminished clothing sizes. So, when I get comments like: The model is too too thin… , That model is starving themselves… That model needs to eat ______, Girls shouldnt look like that… ….. I can only surmise that some of these people have no idea what happens when people stick to a healthy regimen of diet and exercise… on top of a heightened metabolism associated with youth. To those people I say, please quit trying to place a models lifestyle into your own. You may NOT realize this, but we FULLY realize that most models do not represent the ever elusive normal woman or normal man… but we also realize when we hear the term model student or model citizen we hear it as a term meant to inspire to rather than depict an identical representation. And for the record, there are many different categories of modeling… for all body types, age groups and ethnic origins…and the popularity of any one particular sector is driven by many influences during the course of history. A simple study of the fine arts and marketing trends over the years, decades, and centuries will reveal this.
