So what did you think of the Lifetime Aaliyah biopic? I was going to avoid making any comments on the film as there has been plenty of shade and mixed reviews being tossed around the social networking universe. Who am I to share my opinion? But, upon watching it I recognized the flaws that folks are quick to critique. However, I am working with a young rising star and I will encourage she and her mom/manager to watch the film. I looked past its weaknesses and dramatized moments and saw that it still achieved showing all of us what drive, creativity and integrity can lead to... levels BEYOND dreams. While Aaliyah left this world tragically she left behind a shining example for anyone with dreams and aspirations. This film may be beneath the standards that she deserves... it does still offer an abridged look into the building of an artist. Perhaps those in power who knew Aaliyah best and who oppose this film should consider the big screen version. There are two films coming up for Whitney Houston... also a Lifetime picture AND a major motion picture. Why not another Aaliyah film and/or Broadway show? m.youtube/watch?v=JZQm-BOkNms
