So what does a baker do with a mid week day off? Well, bake of course! dont ask me why I couldnt just rest my weary hands a bit but I felt the newly acquired spelt flour and my combination of 9 nuts and seeds calling to me. Also, when I need to get some stress reduction vibes going, taking out your frustrations on a blob of dough isnt the worst thing in the world is it? It came out rather pretty dont you think. I put a tin of water at the bottom of the oven floor to give it a really crunchy crust to make killer toast (one of my weaknesses.) Behind the bread is my latest batch of sunflower seed sprouts - but thats another story. After you have burned all those calories kneading dough and punching it down etc. - at the end of the whole procedure, you get to take a slice of piping hot bread, slather it with butter and eat it, standing up over the sink in your kitchen. Im in!
