So what is happening today on the farm? Noel is hoe hoe hoeing the vegie patch in preparation for new plantings next week. We plant lettuce weekly and everything else fortnightly. Some are seedlings and others are direct seeded. And YUM we are starting to pick imperial mandarins this week and also some naval oranges later in the week. They are sweet and juicy so make sure you get some from one of our stockists. Nice bit of rain although we wish it would just get on and rain rain rain. The rain, sunshine, rain, sunshine tends to cause a few problems in the vegie patch but as long as it dries towards the end of the week, we should be able manage any pesky mould or fungus that pops up! The vegie patch has certainly slowed down with the cooler weather, but this week, we will have cos lettuce, kale, silverbeet and carrots. I need to check on the size of beetroot and we have some interesting varieties of radishes (purple, scarlet & daikon) coming along nicely! Enjoy the rain!
