So, what reasonable expectation to privacy and or intellectual property rights DO professors have? Are our lectures intellectual property, that we should be able to control in the same way that other performers (i.e., actors, comedians, etc.) can? Are emails to students different? What would your reaction be if the email that was publicized had been homophobic, racist, anti-science, or even just anti-liberal? Progressives are certainly not chary about publicly shaming academic communications that we find intolerant. Is turnabout fair play? h/t to Brad Bannon for this!
