So when are we going to become the peculiar people we have been told we are supposed to be? Some of us have already started... I remember when I first started this journey of discovering uncomfortable truths and when I began to break away the walls of apathy I had apparently spent a lifetime building around me. It was exactly the same feeling of when I discovered the Book of Mormon to be true. I just couldnt keep it to myself. I couldnt remain silent about something so incredible. I felt like Lehi after he partook of the fruit of the tree of life... wanting to share it with his loved ones... it was all too incredible to keep to myself. I was about fifteen years old. I collected addresses of penpals, non-LDS contacts, etc and started sending out Books of Mormon with my testimony written inside. I started working with the missionaries. And I started preparing for the mission I knew I needed to serve despite two serious RM boyfriends. I took two mission prep classes, and the entire first year before my mission I listened only to church music. And about 18 months ago that passion for sharing truth has returned. And for a time it seemed all I could talk about it... A HUGE thank you to the friends and family who were patient and still love me... Haha. You know who you are. I have often been surprised to see who has liked my Awaken page. Another HUGE thank you to all those who have come into my life since and from whom I have learned so much. There are so many of you. It is interesting how it seems there is no turning back once you know what you know. But incredibly necessary to take a breather here and there. My Awaken page is for all who will listen. Because silence in the face of such calamity is sin.
