So when are we going to have properly trained enthusiastic marshals at a motocross track? I and probably everyone else are sick and tired of hearing stories of marshals being at part fault for an accident which ends up worse than it should be? At most clubs the criteria is you need to be 16+ and youll get a few Bobb to do it? Thats it? Whitby last year I had a big one. Bike was in the middle if the track, people jumping a big tabletop landing on it. I just ran to end of the track and watched in disbelief as a stationary yellow flag was sat there. When in doubt, get on the side of the jump or the middle of the track in immediate danger cases and direct people (the right way) and wave it like theres 30 riders in the deck the other side. How hard can it be ? Voice your opinions. (Ive been a marshal) we shouldnt be allowing anyone from outside the sport come in to do this? A few will do it just for a better view of the race?! Not looking point to point..
