So, whenever I get the chance to know someone at an intimate - TopicsExpress

So, whenever I get the chance to know someone at an intimate level, I will always come around to the question: “How does your relationship with God, your theology, (your beliefs), your spirituality, (your relationship) translate to your social beliefs, (how you perceive, thus treat “others”)? Without an exception, if a person is conservative in their religious beliefs; they are conservative in their political beliefs. And the same seems to be true with progressives. I have read much on mysticism concerning the Jewish, Islamic, Christian and Buddhist traditions. They all are on the same page when it comes to the “Unconditional Love” of God for ALL PEOPLES. However, when I read about the Dogmatic and Doctrinal beliefs of these religions, they almost always end with something that alludes to the notion that their particular tradition is the “correct” one and all others, to a greater or lesser degree, are inferior…. Or maybe even of Satan. Likewise, (and it wouldn’t take too much to obviously see this), Progressives pretty much are inclusive of ALL PEOPLE. And for conservatives, well, I’ll be gentle and just say: “there are the worthy and the unworthy”. Same in politics: progressives think of social justice in terms of making life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness accessible to ALL PEOPLES; where for conservatives it’s a matter of….again….the worthy and the unworthy.
