So where were you on July 20, 1969? My story: After witnessing Apollo 11 launch from pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center, I was sitting in the back seat of the car listening to the radio in my Dads Buick Electra as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were landing the Lunar Module. (I think that is where my love of radio was born). After actually seeing the Saturn V launch with all the noise, flame and smoke, I had to imagine was it looked like to the astronauts as I was listening to the AM radio. The 1969 voyage of Apollo 11 was a singular moment in human history. It was like witnessing the arrival of Columbus in the New World. But as a seven year old boy I was hearing the historic words of Neil Armstrong, Houston, Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has landed. #Apollo45 #NASA #BuzzAldrin #NeilArmstrong #MichaelCollins #AssignmentUniverse
