So, while I have absolutely no desire to re-start the same old arguments this Memorial Day weekend, I have no choice but to raise my voice in sorrow and protest, because this much I know, in regards to the senseless killings in Southern California yesterday at the hands of a very disturbed young man: The more guns there are available, the more people here will continue to die from their use, in proportions the rest of the so-called civilized world - combined - cant match. And thats a world-leading category youd assume should shame us, someday, into doing the right thing, yes? Otherwise - the blood is on ALL our hands. (And yes, I know he killed three using a knife. Blah, blah, blah. He also carried with him over 400 rounds of ammo. And the answer, some of you sick gun freaks would say, would be for ALL of us to be carrying, all the time, everywhere, because, that way, someone would have killed him sooner, right? Yeah, right.) Heres the hard Truth: We have to come to terms with the fact that we live in a very sick society, made hugely worse by our insane addiction to guns. Until we do, nothing will ever change.
