So while taking a break from Palm Springs raging heat yesterday we strolled by an outdoor restaurant that had live music and thought cool lets go in for a drink. While there I notice a lot of glaring but paid it no mind. Saw a rad grandma swing dancing. Still felt the glaring. Took a selfie. Then after awhile a lady came up to us and rather than asking, accused us of making fun of a boy with a mental disability who was jamming out next to the live band with his drum sticks. It bothered me because I was doing the complete opposite cuz I loved how awesome he kept time, stayed on the beat and how much fun he was having and we along with a number of patrons were clapping and cheering him on. We tried to look at it in positive way and think well at least she was trying to defend someone and her intentions were in the right place but then after really thinking about it, that corner where she came from began glaring at us from the second we sat down on our table and that only tells me that they were probably expecting the worst out of us so in whatever morphed way, thats the conclusion they made up in their minds. Took such a positive experience and good time to such a ugly place. Dont expect the worse out of people and if youre gonna be a good samaritan, make sure you really heard or saw the injustice you are trying to defend against. The nosey neighbor sees a silhouette of an embrace, and cries murder ... to end the story, we kindly explained and cleared up the unnecessary situation, made nice and she goes back to her table of people who seem to not be convinced so they continued to glare. Guess you cant win em all ;-) haha... and then life goes on. Have a great day everyone!!!
