So who says patient support groups are depressing lol The entire Accolade choir arrived for our Christmas party night, festive buffet included the most beautiful cupcakes with blue edible butterflies (thanks to Rosalind Mckinley) and even Santa made a surprise appearance! Madam Chair and coordinator wore Santa suits, my wonderful son organised the seating for over 70, loaded and unloaded the cars full of goodies and did doorman. Martina Nic Mharcaiss sister Eileen and mum made sure everybody got well fed. Sharon Henry came all the way from Belfast to sell raffle tickets, Sally K Burchs hubby Tim got her there and ended up with loads of jobs including carrying tables and chairs in most of the night and Tom Magner organised the Christmas cards and door registration with Sally. A sincere thank you to all the committee members and patients who contributed in so many ways for making our party so special and especially to the healthy family members and friends who did the physical work we were not able to do! Sadly, so many of our members were too ill to attend and nor do any of us get many opportunities to have fun or enjoy laughter for a few hours but I must say, some things are honestly worth the payback!
