So why am I putting a picture of Stafford station on the - TopicsExpress

So why am I putting a picture of Stafford station on the Shrewsbury website? Well I wanted to book a single fare on the through train to London at 15.24 next Monday, but the cost is £47. However if I leave 9 minutes later at 15.33, I can go for just £29, and I can arrive into London just 3 minutes later that the through train despite having to change twice on the way, including at Stafford. I do wonder what this says about the speed of the through train when its faster to change twice, and what the fare says about the incentive to use the through train at all. Come on Virgin Trains, cant you do better?
