So yeah I watched the Carrie remake and it lived up to all my worst expectations. I thought it was a by-the-numbers adaptation that came nowhere near to top DePalmas masterful film. And once again, Chloe Moretz was too beautiful to pull off Carrie. She was more beautiful than the in girls who made fun of her. I kept thinking through the whole film: Too pretty, too pretty, too pretty! Even if she did have all these quirks and idiosyncrasies I am sure there would still be SOMEBODY at that school who wanted to date her. (In this society, physical attractiveness overrides a huge number of sins.) So, thumbs down. It tried, but thumbs down. Does anyone know what King thought of it?
