So yeah, watched Interstellar again to kill 3 hours. And my opinion hasnt changed at all. Boyhood jumped way up on a second viewing. Interstellars right where it was the last time. Not an entertaining movie. No fun aside from that one docking scene. Not even any emotional punch. That last scene with Ellen Burstyn, even MMs character doesnt have an emotional reaction to being at his daughters deathbed. And the bookcase scene. Yeah, thats just..... stupid. :) The movies a big meh. 2014 had loads of truly great films: Birdman Grand Budapest Hotel Gone Girl Interstellar aint one of them. Interstellars got some amazing visuals and not much else. Movies GORGEOUS..... then characters start talking and it all falls apart. Some great performances from MM and Jessica Chastain, but thats it. A solid 3 stars.
