So yesterday I get a call from a foreigner that I couldnt understand about a federal grant. I told her that I wasnt giving out my debit number, account number, or social and she said thats fine, that they didnt need any of those. She spoke about how much the grant was going to be for and that I didnt have to pay back the money. Now a couple hours before this, I had just made up my mind to sell my mahogany Martin D-15 to pay a few debts and help grandma. Then this call comes in so Im starting to think maybe its God, but heres the rest. The first caller gives me a conformation code LY102, and a specific phone number to call a melvin kel. So I hang up and call ole mel and he tells me that in order to claim my grant money of 8,500, all I have to do is go to any place that sells a green dot money pak card and put 250 dollars on it to activate it. At that point I wonder but because grandma and I could use that money for a lot of good things I still wanted to go through with it. Then after several calls of trying to understand his arabic accent, I find out that you have to call him after purchasing the card and give them a code number off the card and from there they said they would western union me my check but I talked with some good friends and decided it was a scam. Im new to that sort of thing but I wanted to share the green dot money pak scam. Its weird the many ways that satan comes at you to steal, kill, and destroy.
