So, yesterday I got a message from aspiring artist Ariel Rawdah (https://facebook/pages/Ariel-Rawdah-artist/322630904561943 ) with this Luke image in it (the painted one, obv) and my little Star Wars heart exploded. As a fan myself who was basically raised by the original trilogy, stuff like this just reminds me of when I would sit at home and copy Dave Dorman drawings all day. Of all the things that come from being an illustrator, stuff like this and sleeping until I wake up are probably my two favorites. Since Im posting her art, I thought Id also put up a couple of drawings from two young padawans named Owen and Mateo. Theyre the children of one of my wifes co-workers, and apparently when their mom told them I worked on Star Wars art they got very excited. We had the two of them over at the house for an evening, (where they mostly played with my stormtrooper blaster and FX Lightsaber) and at the end of the night I let them pick out a couple of prints. Well, a week later these drawings showed up at my house, and they are two of my most prized possessions. Not only are they amazing, but their mom made sure to tell Cathryn to let me know they used reference, which we had spoken about. And I think theyre reference was Legos :D
