So yesterday I heard something making animal noises outside the basement window....it kept on...so I went outside and found a momma raccoon with three cute little ones....mamma climbed up a concrete wall to get away when she saw me...but only one youngin managed to make the climb using a small stump next the wall....it was interesting watching mom trying to keep the one hidden while trying to gather the other two trying to hide at a low section of the concrete wall. They eventually found the stump with her help and mom warily took them all toward the back yard. Today...another little guy almost got run over by a van that I was behind near Kent. Fortunately, the driver stopped in time..but the little raccoon...size of my cat...was scared and ran into the street creating more confusion for him and drivers going both ways. I opened my door to chase him across...but instead he ran toward me as if to say "help!!"...so I picked up the little guy....thought for a second...be cool to bring him home....Lisa would kill me....and instead dumped him in the bushed from whence he came...paws and claws fully extended...scared...but probably happy to be in the green. Gotta love nature...especially if city noise seems to be the only thing you hear.
