So yesterday I was listening to some music and, as usual, I was very much into the lyrics of the song. It got me thinking about my appreciation of both music and lyrics. THAT got me thinking about one of the best classes I ever had in school. It was a class called Rock Poetry taught by Mr. Garwood at Santa Monica High School. It was a great class that got me not only into the music of groups like Yes, David Bowie, Genesis, ELP, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and countless others, but taught me to LISTEN to the lyrics as well to try to understand what the music was all about. That brings us to todays Random Question of the Day - What was your favorite class in school and why???
