So, yesterday Sara is filling the stock tank and asked me to shut - TopicsExpress

So, yesterday Sara is filling the stock tank and asked me to shut the water off...well............. I forgot to turn the water off...uh oh...when I remembered, I expected it to be running out on the ground....but no...it was still an inch from the top....HMMM....I was a little surprised but thought ...water must be running slow though the sprayer....a few hours later, it is getting dark and I turn on the faucet to wash my hands... (Insert BIG UH OH here)....nothing comes out of the faucet. OH NO !!!...Yep, that is why the stock tank did not overflow, the cistern is empty. I have a well that pumps into the cistern, and the breaker for the well pump keeps kicking off. Of course, it is a holiday weekend....something like this never happens on a Wednesday, it is ALWAYS on a holiday weekend...so the well fix it man probably wont even call me back till next week....I had seen on facebook that Leon Bloom is hauling water now..it is almost 830 in the pm but I thought I would call him and see when he can bring me water....Glory Be... he answered the phone and said he would bring me water right then....now...this is amazing...he was moving a mobile home in the morning and the water tank was out of the truck and the truck was filled with the tools he needs for his mobile home moving business...so to bring me water he has to unload the tools, load the water hauling tank, go to town and fill up the water hauling tank, bring the water, go back home, unload the water hauling tank and load the tools back in his truck....how many people would do that? By the time he got here with the water it was after 9pm, and there is a fence around my well pit and cistern, and he did not have enough hose to reach the cistern....so we scratched our heads and he said if I had a sheet of tin he could make it work....lucky...I sitll had some brand new tin from having the roof redone....God Bless Leon...it was after 10 when he finally left here after rigging up the tin to funnel the water into the cistern....and he offered to bring me a second load so I would not have to wait till he got the mobile home moved for the cistern to be full. AMAZING !!! It was late, and 1000 gallons will do for a few days....so Leon will bring me another load to finish filling the cistern when he gets done with the mobile home move . I count myself lucky that there is someone like Leon Bloom in the water hauling business. I have known Leon for many years just to nod and wave, I did not realize until last night what a truly fine man he is. I never expected him to drop everything to bring me water, but he said it was a distress call and he wanted to be sure I had water. The one pasture has an automatic waterer that fills as they drink, there is no reservoir, so if Leon had not brought the water last night, those horses would have had no water at all. THANK YOU LEON !!!!
