So yesterday some mentally challenged person decided to send me a hate email in response for a doggie posting on rescueme.org . The post critcized me for making money off shelter pups. I am so glad the rescue group I am trying to help get their non profit license has the animals at the center of their mission and have made a special statement that we will not criticize other rescues. I went off on this person. I get criticizing those that abandon and abuse animals but I am not even in for criticizing the shelters publically. I have been in many of them and they step into hell every day and most of them do the best they can for the animals every day. It is not there fault that they numbers of animals coming in is unmangeable with out making choices to put some down. I made it clear to the woman that I am losing money. I am criticized if I charge nothing I am criticized when I do. I always try to make the adoption fee as small as possible. I do know some rescues that make money by getting fosters they do not help and then getting money from transporting up north. However I will not even criticize them because bottom line the animals they pull are not dieing in the shelter. I am trying to take a month or 2 break from rescueing and I can not even do that. If someone had to pay me for what I do it would be very expensive because it is a 24/7 venture. I get up when the dogs are ready to get up. In between my 2 jobs i am cleaning up poop and feeding dogs. My whole point is I dont think anyone should be criticizing a rescuer. Doing this hurts the animals.
