So, you asked your IT guy for advise. Your IT guy gave you advise and explained, in great detail, why he gave the recommendation that he did. Further, he explained that xyz would be the probable outcome if you proceed in a different direction. You thank IT guy for his recommendation and then proceed in the direction that you were warned not to go, noting that you had given his recommendation consideration. The thing your IT guy warned you would happen happens and you seem surprised. This is, of course, a hypothetical situation that is hypothetically going to keep me up for a very long time.
