So you know how as a college student you had limited income and all? Well if you are a full-time grad student youre likely in the same boat. As your friends pockets are seemingly growing as their careers take off, you may be operating from a more meager situation. I say all this as I found myself in an interesting position today. On the metro, a young woman asked me if I had any food. I did not and I told her so. As I left the metro I thought to myself if I had had food, would I have given it to her? Knowing that it may mean I myself may not be able to eat. I decided that I would probably have given it to her knowing it might have been her only meal for the day. And I prayed that she would cross paths with someone who would be willing to offer her sustenance. Shortly after I decide to stop at CVS on my way to my internship. A young man, who appears to be homeless opens the door for me. I contemplate his actions. It again crosses my mind of who am I to provide for another when I sometimes feel I can barely provide for myself. But then I considered how God has always made a way for me, and that I could not let my current state stop me from being a blessing to some one who actually needed something more than I. We are all fortunate in so many ways. I pray that the small misfortunes we experience time to time do not blind us from helping those who are truly in need of a helping hand.
