So you know that Mass Effect RolePlay? Im calling it MERP. Ive already decided that NO TECHNOMANCERS. Seriously, theyre not going to make the game more fun. They dont get to exist. Too bad. I can say this confidently because all Technomancer rules are, luckily, supplementary; they arent needed to run the game. You dont have to have a Technomancer in the party. So Id rather do without them. But what do you guys think of the Astral Plane? And the Matrix? Im absolutely comfortable with Magicians being able to use Assensing to detect spells. I dont want to break hacking, so there can absolutely still be some mild forms of digital combat, but the whole alternate-plane thing... it always requires a whole new set of stats. And thats a pain, and it makes things way more complex than I think it needs to be. And lets be honest; how many times did any of us actually sit down, design an icon/avatar, and take real Matrix actions? How often did anyone actually Astrally Project? Couldnt we still accomplish these same tasks without all of that complexity? I want to hear what you guys think. Namely Ben Ethan Michael, of course. Also, Im interested in using 5th Edition, because I like the way the Priority System simplifies character creation, and I like the new rules for Initiative.
