So... you saw that example of a mum on my last post. How about a mum-themed giveaway??? If youre unfamiliar, mums started in Texas way back when as guys giving girls a flower for homecoming, and then it expanded into this huge tradition, wherein you have a giant fake flower (or three or four) creation thats decorated with ribbons and glitter (oh so much glitter). And because were so competitive in Texas, naturally over the years, mums have gotten bigger and better and WEIRDER. Youll often see them with a stuffed animal attached to the middle of the flower. They have bells and plastic football helmets, and in 7th grade, a boy named Ricky gave me one that played a Backstreet Boys song. (IT WAS ALL VERY ROMANTIC, OKAY?) Below you can see an assortment of mums I found still laying around my parents house. This is about 1/3 to 1/2 of the mums we have still around. Now for that giveaway... For a chance to win a signed copy of ANY of my books: If you were to have a mum inspired by my books-- All Lined Up or any of the rest-- what weird and wacky things would you put on it?
