So you youve fallen under the spell of Corfu. Did you ever wonder why??? How many people know that there is an invisible Line, similar to a ley line, connecting Corfu was on an alignment of a large number of important sites dedicated to St Michael and Apollo? *Named the Apollo - St Michael Axis, the alignment runs from Skellig Michael, through St. Michaels chapel on Carn Brea in Cornwall, St. Michaels Mount in Cornwall, Mont St. Michel in Brittany, Bourges, Sagra di San Michele in Piedmont, San Michele at Castiglione di Garfagnal. Perugia, Monte Sant Angelo, Monte Gargano, the site of the first recorded appearance of the Archangel Michael, Kerkyra (Corfu), Delphi (Apollos main sanctuary), Athens, Delos (legendary place of Apollos birth), Kamiros on Rhodes (oldest temple to Apollo on the island), Mount Carmel in the Holy Land. The line follows a bearing of 60.11o, from Mount Carmel to Skellig Michael. The line was discovered by the French researcher Jean Richer and his brother Lucien. Starting from an alignment of Delos - Athens - Delphi, they used a Mercator projection of the globe to account for the spherical geometry of the Earth. And found that the line passed through the various sites. Richer spent many years exploring the significance of his discovery and eventually detailed his years of work in his book, Sacred Geography of the Ancient Greeks.* (The above is attributed to Jonathan Dunn) I always feel that there is something drawing me back to Corfu and the sense of calm and serenity that I feel there. Perhaps this explains why!!!
