So, youve seen photos and heard my stories about this musical adventure Ive just had with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. So now, have a listen :-) Final REHEARSAL in Suzhou with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, WARTS and all, of Kelly Tangs piece, Montage - Concerto for Jazz Piano and Chinese Orchestra. I have to qualify this by saying that I held back about 16-20% of the more difficult runs to preserve my hands for the concert that night. I was also still in discovery mode looking for new ways to play certain passages. Also, the piano was not tuned yet so there were some sour notes in the high register. But all in all, I think its an ok rehearsal recording, done on my iPhone, and a chance for you guys to hear it. The piano is loud because my iPhone is placed right at the top C of the piano keyboard.
