Soaking up knowledge today…I love history and how it teaches us in our modern times. In terms of war things remain the same. We’ve been in the Middle East now for nearly 15 years. It took Rome’s great army 15 years to finally defeat Hannibal and get him out of Italy. One striking thing from the Roman army to our armies. Is how they justify imperialism. Then, like today, wars were always fought in defense. We are in the Middle East today to “defend” American “freedom”. I find it incredible that thousands of years later, that bullshit logic still flies, and still instills in people’s hearts that war is for safety, and thus war rages on the same as it always has. Very interesting to think on this simple matter in relation to what we are as a species. Still up to the same tactics for thousands of years. Which is, control with fear, might, and death. And we wonder why aliens won’t visit us, would you visit a planet of war mongers? Hells naw!
