Sobering moment of the day: I met a beautiful lady at the vendor event. As we chatted about Velata and stuff....she mentioned she was from Carrollton, KY...I told her I used to live in Bedford...and we reminisced for a while as people who have lived in the same hometowns do. Then she mentioned, When my daughter was killed... After awhile, I inquired as to what happened. Then she shared she was the 3 year old pre-school child killed in a bus accident in 2012. I was stunned. I remembered that accident, as all moms seem to take the news of such accidents to heart. I remember vividly thinking about the horrible state of the family of the 3 year old. I remember aching for them, all those years ago. Today, one of those people, the mother, was standing in front of me. I started to say I remember praying for you. But...I stopped myself. I didnt say it. Though I probably should have. But I didnt. Nevertheless, Ill remember the day I met the mother as vividly as I remember the day I heard the news of the accident. These kind of memories help to put a lot of other things in perspective, thats for certain.
