Socceroos selected Adelaide United media snippet Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck today named a provisional squad of 24 players for the upcoming EAFF (East Asian Football Federation) East Asian Cup tournament against Japan, China PR and Korea Republic. Adelaide United shot stopper, Eugene Galekovic, and reigning Aurelio Vidmar Club Champion Dario Vidosic have both been given the nod to participate in the tournament. The East Asian Cup squad is comprised of 19 players from the Hyundai A-League and 5 from Asian-based clubs. Galekovic, currently on Socceroos camp, is delighted about the call up, and is looking to prove himself. “I’ve been working hard here at camp, and if I get my chance I’ll take it. This is a great opportunity for all the A-League boys to show Holger what they can do”, Galekovic said. The Socceroos will arrive in Seoul on Wednesday evening and will play their first match of the EAFF East Asian Cup against the host nation, the Korea Republic, on Saturday 20 July (kick off 7:30pm CST). Their second match of the tournament will be against Japan on Thursday 25 July (kick off 8:30pm CST) and the final match will be against China PR on Sunday 28 July (kick off 5:45pm CST). All matches from the EAFF East Asian Cup will be broadcast live and exclusive on Fox sports.
