Social Conditions Program Officer (Economist) - Centre for Social Concern (CfSC) Plan and design research activity which address critical issues of society today, Conduct monthly research for Urban Basic Needs Basket, Initiate and implement advocacy and lobbying strategies with policy makers, Network with other civil society organisations to consolidate efforts on issues that need liaising with government, Contribute to the analysis of local and international economic issues, Maintain a close collaboration with leaders of faith communities at national, regional and district levels, Collaborate closely with the Rural Basic Needs Basket, Some other duty that may be assigned to him/her by the Director or his representative Bachelors degree in Development with a major in economics from a recognised institution, A Master degree would be an added advantage, A minimum of 3 yrs work experience in a related field, including a practical experience in project planning and implementation, Sufficient knowledge and competency in various computer programs and databases such as MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Excel and SPSS and a general ITC, Strong skills in writing reports and project proposals, Excellent facilitation skills during workshops/sessions/meetings, Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, Ability to meet strict deadlines on reporting and other activities, Should be a team worker and builder when carrying out activities, Creative, self starter, flexible and willing to work during odd hours Suitably qualified and experienced candidates should submit their applications in writing by 31st January including a detailed CV and 3 traceable refs to The Director, Centre for Social Concern, P O Box 40009, Kanengo, Lilongwe 4 Visit: myjobo for more job vacancies
