Facebook Rebukes DEA For Impersonating Woman Online (BuzzFeed) Facebook has bluntly told the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to stop using phony accounts and posing as real people in its investigations. The company’s rebuke, delivered Friday in a sharply critical letter to the law enforcement agency, comes after BuzzFeed News disclosed that a DEA agent had created a bogus Facebook account, impersonated an upstate New York woman and posted racy photos of her and an image of her young son from her seized cell phone — all without her knowledge. Daily Mail/AP In court filings, Sondra Arquiett said her pictures were retrieved from her cellphone after she was arrested in July 2010 on drug charges and her device seized. National Journal The Justice Department has argued that Sinnigen had the right to use seized photographs to pose as Arquiett online. Facebook noted that authorities do not dispute Arquiett’s charges and said it was “deeply troubled by the DEA’s claims and legal position.” Check Out Snapchat’s First Ad for Universal Pictures (Adweek) Snapchat’s first sponsored message arrived Saturday, and it was a video ad from Universal Pictures previewing its movie Ouija.
