Social Unrest is not a current outbreak because of these face-value issues of police brutality, authoritative abuse and classist anxiety. It happens, not bcuz we as a ppl have lost our way, per se, but bcuz we have decided that our way is not ours to choose. We let society mold us, and label is based on our status, hierarchy, or melanin-affluence. We allow social norms to define us even when it a category we as individuals do not fit in to. Most of these cops dont beat and kill blacks bcuz theyre racist, they harm them bcuz they can. And there is a supporting consensus in their field and constructs that say its just simply OK. The same goes for the way black people talk to whites that they dont know, or are even if dissenting opinion. It is not your right to judge our disavow someones thoughts just bcuz they dont live the black experience that makes you ignorant. Sure there are those that are seemingly detached, but there are also those that just wish to be educated. Not knowing is not racist. Neither is not caring. But knowing, NOT caring, and subsequently thriving on anothers misfortune bcuz of their pigment, well that pretty much as racist as it gets. And frankly it happens more on the black side of the aisle than that of the whites. No one is immune to ignorance. But the total disregard to educate oneself on behalf of it, will cause a festering. We definitely need to stand up for what is right. But not while sacrificing what is right. Hate will only breed more hate and division. #inmymind
