And the truth is, others want to pull you down – so they can compare favorably to you. Others will tell you that you must live up to a certain standard of beauty or achievement or education – but the problem is you always have to do more, be more, accomplish more. By comparing yourself to others you are not wise. It always makes you feel less than. That’s why Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10:12: “We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves.
