Soddom and Gomorra: Behind the Scenes Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. . . . Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? And the Lord said to Abraham, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. And Abraham answered... . . forty five....forty... . thirty... . twenty... . ...And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten righteous shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for tens sake. And the Lord went his way. . . And there came two angels to Sodom at evening; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servants house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat. But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may KNOW them. And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them AS IS GOOD IN YOUR EYES: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. This, my friends, is the famous story of the fall of Satans cities Sodom and Gomorrah. Despite the almightys promise that the entire cities would be spared for the sake of ten righteous souls, a loophole is found where the righteous Lot and his daughters are first removed to a cave outside the city, after which fire and brimstone rains down on both cities, which they totally deserve as they are the kind of people, who, young and old, came to Lots house to gang rape angels, siyansachew new mekkattel. Now the surprising part for me is that the good, righteous, loving Lot, for whose good and saintly sake the cities were almost spared, when faced with this rapey dilemma, is torn because these angelic guests are under his protection, he cant just allow people to come into his house and rape his guests! So what does he do? He doesnt pray for help, which wouldve been daft with TWO angels already beside him, but he doesnt even ask them for help either. He instead immediately offers his two, virgin, probably underage daughters for SUBSTITUTE RAPE VICTIMS with these words to the peope of Soddom, do ye to them as is good in your eyes. This is no joke when said to human monsters willing to rape angels. He just sentenced his own daughters to death by rape and acts like its his sacrifice. A real saint would offer HIMSELF. So this Lot is the righteous guy who escaped hellfire? Cmon guys. Even Hitler wouldnt let his own daughters get raped. Now lets check up on the other two saintly characters in the story, the daughters. And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters. And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth: Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. ... Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. Now seeing as how Soddom and Gommorah were the only cities destroyed, even the nearby city of Zoar had ample men, not to mention the rest of Israel, so the escalation to incest seems a bit unnecessary... This is more like a horror story than a philosophical tome. No wonder the New Testament was given to us, not even Caligula could learn anything priductive from the Old.
