Software can now accurately predict your personality type using nothing but what you liked on Facebook. On the basis of between 100 and 150 Facebook likes, the teams algorithm could determine someones personality more accurately than could their friends and family, and nearly as well as their spouse. The system works by giving 86,000 people the Big 5 personality test, then using a machine learning system to correlate their personality traits with their Facebook activity. Once the system is trained, it can identify personality traits of people who havent done the Big 5 personality test. The article says the system will probably be used to find or screen job applicants.
