Solar and wind energy are not theoretical, experimental sources of energy. They merely disrupt the status quo in nations where corporations fully invested in fossil fuels and/or too attached to their monopolistic business models are unwilling to change. Disruptive market forces favoring sustainable energy and decentralization will prevail in the near future--IF we have a truly market economy. If not, it will take longer. Meanwhile, countries that embrace the new reality available through solar power (in particular) will leapfrog over those holding on to the past.
