Solaris Performing Arts Inc. Announces Multi-Phase Plan for Long-Term Success When the founders of Solaris Performing Arts Inc. began this project, one thing was clear: we all shared the same vision of drum corps in Florida. We knew that putting together this project would not be an easy task as Florida has many barriers to creating and maintaining a long-term, viable organization. Our Board of Directors is hard at work establishing the necessary infrastructure and financial base we need to foster a successful organization. It is with great excitement that we share with you our plans for the coming drum corps season and beyond. Phase 1: Summer 2015- Solaris will debut as a Soundsport/DCA Mini Corps comprised of 18-20 Brass and 5-7 Percussionists. Our goal for this year will be to put together a very high achieving ensemble that will lay the foundation for our future. This group aims to perform at several southern drum corps shows including the Soundsport division at DCI Atlanta as well as DCA finals in Rochester, NY on Labor Day weekend. Phase 2: Winter 2015/16- Solaris Performing Arts Inc, has already begun the planning of a WGI caliber winter guard. We will be working with a few established guards and staff in Florida and will be working to bring them under the Solaris Performing Arts Inc. umbrella organization. There is also the possibility of creating an indoor percussion unit. More information on these groups will be released as next year’s WGI season grows closer. Phase 3: Summer 2016- Phase 3 is the culmination of all these groups. Solaris will field a DCA all age Drum and Bugle Corps that will compete in the DCA south circuit and will attend DCA finals. The Solaris Drum and Bugle Corps will be the flagship of our organization and will be the standard bearer for our creative vision and values. As the 2016 season rolls around we will refine the details of this corps as far as size and classification. It is our hope to build the financial and membership base to sustain this corps at a competitive level for years to come. Solaris will begin their journey with the first rehearsal of the Mini Corps/Soundsport group in January. Details, including audition dates and locations, will be announced very shortly.
