Soldier Died For You ( Us) A soldier lives, Called to combat and dies. Family and freinds all weep, A mother cries. He was called to duty and had done his best, To keep us all from harms way. Now he is carried to his final rest, I listen in silence, and this is what I hear him say. I died for you this day, Holidays were named to honor me. Veterans and Memorial day, But its not enough please listen and you will see. Most my freinds and family are gone, I hear footsteps walking over my grave. Please someone stop and pray, Its my life for you that day I gave. I and many died for you that day, Watched freinds and futures fall. And can tell you this you need FAITH, If I could rise again, once again Id do it all. I died for you as Christ once did, Much less pain so cant compare. But as it is with Christ, I would do it again to this I swear. Your freedom is the greatest cause, Im not owed a thing this day. Please hear this my final request, Should you pass my grave please pray. I lived and died for you. Never got to hear a final goodbye. My family and freinds all wept, My mother deeply cried. SLP 2013 - 14 Note This may have been most difficult to pose. I know of soldiers that died in war but also many that came back dead on the inside. We as Americans owe our men and woman so much that have given their lives for us. Many of our homeless are men and woman thought fought for us. Do you pass them by or have you gone to a VA hospital or to a VA nursing home to thank them for keeping us safe and for their service? If not think about spending a holiday with them or sit and hold their hand. If you see one on the street look into their eyes and thank them and take them to eat. This is close to my heart and wish I could do more. I would like to thank those of you that donate to the Wounded Soldier Foundation.
